By the directive of the Supreme Leader, the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Abdol Azim Hassani (AS)—which the martyred leader had previously described as the "Qibla of Tehran"—hosted the first official memorial ceremony honoring the martyrs from the family of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
According to the shrine's Department of Public Relations and Islamic Communications, memorial services for Martyr Zahra Haddad-Adel, Martyr Sayyedeh Boshra Hosseini Khamenei, Martyr Mesbah al-Hoda Bagheri, and Martyr Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani were held on Thursday evening (May 28) and Friday (May 29) at the Imam Ali (AS) Prayer Hall of the holy shrine.
This was the first public event dedicated to commemorating these four esteemed members of the Leader's family. The ceremonies were attended by large and dignified crowds of revolutionary and loyal citizens from Tehran and other cities, alongside the families of martyrs, veterans, and a number of civilian and military officials.
Inspired by the mourning ceremonies traditionally held at the Imam Khomeini Hussainiya, the memorial services began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and prayers for blessings upon the Prophet and his family.
Hojjat al-Islam Alireza Panahian delivered remarks on Thursday, while Hojjat al-Islam Hamed Kashani spoke on Friday, paying tribute to the memory and sacrifices of the martyrs.
The ceremonies also featured elegies and mourning recitations by several of Iran's prominent eulogists, including Mahmoud Karimi, Mohammadreza Taheri, Hanif Taheri, Hossein Sib-Sorkhi, Meysam Motiee, Mohammad Hossein Pouyanfar, and Hossein Taheri, adding a distinctive spiritual atmosphere to the gatherings.
During one part of the ceremony, Mahmoud Karimi conveyed three messages from the Supreme Leader. He said that, first, the families of the martyrs share in the spiritual rewards of the gathering; second, people should not abandon the public arena and the streets; and third, the memory of Martyr Sadegh Zarrin should also be honored.
The ceremonies were held in an atmosphere filled with mourners and aimed at paying tribute to the exalted status of the martyrs and expressing solidarity with their surviving family members. At the conclusion of the events, the faithful and devoted people of Iran once again renewed their pledge to the sacred ideals of the martyrs and the Islamic Revolution.
